Reading this post in the New York Times today I was reminded of this photograph of a sign in Yakima I shot a few months ago. The form of the sign is beautiful, though perhaps I wouldn’t think so if I grew up in Yakima? I’m not sure. It was a sense of nostalgia that inspired my trip – my grandmother/great-grandfather’s family lived in the area for some time in the early 1900’s. I went to try to find the house they lived in, but it appears to have been long since replaced by an auto repair shop.
