The Association of Moving Image Archivists Conference in Portland
November 22, 2015
As you know, in addition to photographing architecture and design, I really enjoy capturing live events, especially if dark/difficult/unusual lighting is involved. Recently I spent an evening at one of the AMIA’s events to experience the performances of a few friends. The evening’s theme was the Vanport section of Portland, which was overrun by a flood in 1948, causing a tragic displacement of people within the city, the effects of which are still felt today.
